As part of it’s mission, AMOCA preserves and collects significant ceramic achievements of the world’s cultures from ancient times to the present. Our permanent collection, which consists of over 7,000 pieces, is a growing representation of the impact of ceramics on the development of human cultures. Much of our permanent collection has been photographed and is available for view on FLICKR. At this time we do not offer tours of our storage facilities to the public. To view our permanent collection, please choose a section below to see that part of our flickr photostream.
Collectors If you would like to share information about your collection with AMOCA’s Curatorial Staff, please follow these guidelines: Include a cover letter introducing yourself and a brief overview of the nature of your interest in working with the Museum (donating artwork, exhibiting your collection); information about your ceramic collection and its provenance. These materials may be emailed to email@example.com or mailed to the address below. At this time we are not able to return materials mailed to us. Please mail non-returnable materials to: AMOCA 399 N Garey Ave Pomona, CA 91767 To see part of our Permanent Collection please visit our FLICKR page.
The American Museum of Ceramic Art does not provide appraisals or authentications. We also do not have the staff to help you identify or research your unknown ceramics. Books to help you with this are available in our Gift Shop or our Library. For personal assistance, we urge you to contact the Appraisers Association of America at www.appraisersassoc.org. You can also find general information and web links for appraisals on the web site of the Archives of American Art (http://www.aaa.si.edu/) at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
