Clay Camp 2013

We believe all kids deserve the chance to discover who they are and what they can achieve with clay. AMOCA’s Clay Camp is designed as an introduction to ceramics for kids’ ages 8-16. Each session offers different projects that will be completed in just five days. Each camp is a standalone experience and includes learning, fun, and a chance to try new things. You may sign up for one session or more.

Camps begin June 3 and continue through June 28. Class enrollment is limited to 12 for the hand-building and 6 for the wheel-throwing. Sign up early! Each session includes the following: an AMOCA Clay Camp t-shirt, a tour of the museum, tips from artists, snacks, and lab fees. Number of projects varies between each student.

Camp sessions are listed chronologically. Each camp session is 3 hours long. Parents are welcomed to sign up their children for a half day or a full day. The half day sessions run from 9AM to Noon and then from 1PM to 4PM.  The full day sessions run from 9AM to 4PM. Parents of the half day campers are welcome to register for Lunchtime Activities. Lunchtime activities include supervision during lunch, and a game or movie to accompany the morning session. Lunchtime supervision is included in the price of full day camps, so no need to register for the Lunchtime Activities in that case.

More information regarding camps (emergency contact forms and general info) will be sent to registered families two weeks prior to camp.

Clay Camp Exhibition Reception

July 13, 2013 6pm-8:30pm
Started in the summer of 2012, AMOCA's Clay Camp, with the help of dedicated volunteers and teachers, has been a successful program. The program brings ceramic art experiences into the hands and minds of children. Clay Campers are able to explore a multitude of cultures and locations, whether it be regions in Mexico, the United States’ Southwest, countries in Asia, or ancient civilizations. We invite you to take a look at the artwork that will be produced at the studio during the month of June.
