Vincent Suez was born in Petaluma, CA, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in art from Cal State Fullerton in 1966 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Claremont Graduate School and University Center in 1969. He taught in CSUF’s Department of Visual Arts from 1970-2008. The artist’s work has its basis in traditional pottery, producing large porcelain jars and vases with exquisitely layered glazes and delicate, subtle colors shifts. Incised forms of dragonflies, birds, and other animals flow across silky pale jade greens and soft sands and pinks, dancing across their surfaces or completely enfolding the vessels with their wings.
