Introductory “Teaser” Classes

2 hours – $45/person
Want to dip your toe into the clay world? Crave handmade, authentic, and personal? Take a teaser class for a two-hour crash course in what the New York Times called the “perfect antidote to modern times.” Come as you are – no preparation or background needed! Choose from Friday Nights in the Studio or Coffee and Clay.

Friday Nights in the Studio

Friday Nights • 7-9 PM
Whisk the week away with a Friday night to remember – 2 hours of professional instruction, all the clay you need, a piece to take home, and all the laughter you can bring to the table. Bring your own refreshments and snacks for a truly DIY experience!

Coffee & Clay

Various Mornings • 10 AM-12 PM
Relax with a complimentary cup of coffee or tea and dig into some clay therapy. Curiosity and laughter will be your best friends during this two-hour introduction to creating clay art with your hands. And of course you can bring your own snacks!

Beginning & Intermediate Courses

4-9 Weeks • Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter Terms • $200-$350

Wheel Throwing

Offered at Beginning and Intermediate levels, this track of study focuses on creating functional tableware on the potter’s wheel. Cylinders, cups, bowls, and more.

Hand Building

Offered at Beginning and Intermediate levels, this track of study focuses on both sculptural and functional objects using techniques specific to hand building, including pinch, coil, and slab construction.

Combination Classes

Offered at Beginning and Intermediate levels, A survey of to the two most common types of clay production – wheel throwing and hand building. This track of study provides students exposure to a selection of the techniques and approaches mentioned in the wheel throwing and hand building tracks of study.


If you can visualize it, we can help you build it! A highly individualized track, these courses focus on realizing sculptural sketches. Significantly more independent work than other tracks of study.
