This fund was launched on May 5, 2020 as part of #GivingTuesdayNow and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its purpose is to support ceramic artists who specifically create digital content that advances the ceramic arts.
Participating artists will receive micro-grants of $250 and support to create, produce, and distribute their projects.
Selection Process
Artists will be selected monthly from a pool of nominations. Submissions will be considered on a rolling basis. Anyone may submit a nomination (including a self-nomination).
Several invitations may be extended each month and sometimes not at all, depending on available nominations and funding.
Gifts may be made to the Digital Ceramic Arts Fund at any time to support this program.
100% of gifts to the fund are granted to artists.
Give NowFunding Process
Invited artists participate in an orientation call with AMOCA staff to discuss the digital project and to answer any questions. Artists may have a project under way, an idea for a project, or the desire to explore new options aligning with this program. Projects may fall into one of the following categories:
- Studio Visit
- Technical Demonstration
- Artist Talk/Presentation
- Conversation/Discussion with AMOCA staff or other experts/scholars in the field regarding a topic specific to the artist (including projects, process, or bodies of work) or the ceramic arts (including critical theory or current events, themes, or trends)
- Digital Project specific to the ceramic arts
This is not intended to be an exhaustive list, and there is significant flexibility in the scope of projects.
Once the project has been agreed upon and a timeline confirmed, participants will be announced (this will happen on a rolling basis according to the specific needs of participating artists).
