On View: July 13 – September 29, 2019
Reception: July 13, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm • Talk by Peter Pincus @ 7:00 p.m. • Artist in Attendance

Known for his vibrant and colorful works, New York-based ceramist Peter Pincus currently serves on the art faculty at the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Pincus believes that color interaction can elicit new ways of seeing. He elects to stage conflict by introducing an assertive color field to an equally emphatic form. This friction augments and enriches perceptions of space. He believes in grounding his work within a historic study of this craft and within art as formal and cultural languages.

He holds a BFA and MFA From Alfred University, and his work can be found at the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art, the Everson Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center, and the Schien-Joseph International Museum.
