
Mochi Making Party @ AMOCA

Join us for a step-by-step workshop to learn the process of making mochi, a traditional Japanese dessert made from glutinous rice flour that is pounded and shaped into soft, sticky treats.
Participants will learn about the cultural significance of mochi in Japan, explore its unique texture and flavor, and discover different ways it can be filled and enjoyed. This event is perfect for those with no experience and those who have been wanting to learn. All materials will be provided.
This event is geared toward adults 16 and over; youth may attend if accompanied by a paying adult.
- Pre-registration is required; space is limited.

- Registration includes admission to the museum Saturday, July 11, so you might want to plan to arrive early or stay late to explore current exhibitions, including Tōgei: Contemporary Japanese Ceramics. AMOCA is open from 11 AM -4 PM on Saturdays.

To help us prepare workshop materials, pre-registration is required. Be sure to purchase your ticket by noon on Friday, July 10!
Discounted tickets are available for Pomona residents and Museum Members.
Your ticket for this in-person event includes museum admission. AMOCA is open from 11 AM -4 PM on Saturdays. You might plan to arrive a little earlier or stay a little later if you’d like to explore our current exhibitions.
